Case Study Introduction

"Novotel is a hotel brand belonging to the Accor group of companies, which is, in turn, a global provider of hotel accommodation. Other Accor hotel brands include Formule 1, Etap, Ibis, Mercure and Sofitel. Accor pitches its brands at different levels of the market range; Formule 1, for example, is a cheaper, budget brand, while Sofitel is at the luxury end of the market. Accor’s target market for the Novotel brand is the mid to upper level of the market range. The Novotel concept is of an international chain of modern, practical and informal hotels catering for both business and leisure tourists".
