Unit Overview

This unit focuses on a range of current issues that affect travel and tourism, giving you the opportunity to study one issue in greater depth. You will develop skills that are appropriate to carrying out sustained and planned research, similar to those adopted in academic research. You will gain an understanding of the different approaches to research and the research tools that can be used to plan and carry out a travel and tourism research project. Your project will not only investigate an issue in depth, but also analyse the impacts of that issue on the travel and tourism sector, such as the development of new markets, loss of revenue and changing product ranges.
